FOCUS DECK
One task. A quieter screen.

REQUIREMENTS
macOS 13 Ventura or later, on Apple silicon or Intel.
A Todoist account and personal API token are required to create tasks in the app.
The Spotify desktop app is optional and enables the music control.

INSTALL
1. Drag Focus Deck into Applications.
2. Open Focus Deck from Applications.
3. This preview is not notarized by Apple. If macOS blocks opening it, go to
   System Settings > Privacy & Security, choose Open Anyway for Focus Deck,
   and confirm Open. Only do this for a download you trust.

FIRST TASK
1. In Todoist, open Settings > Integrations > Developer and copy your API token.
2. In Focus Deck, press Command-comma, paste the token under Todoist, and Save.
3. Press Command-E, write a task, and choose Add to Today & focus.
   The task is added to your Todoist Inbox, due today.
4. Press Command-D or click Done to complete that same task in Todoist.
   Press Command-K to choose an existing Todoist task.

MUSIC
Open Spotify and choose music. Click the square in Focus Deck to play or pause.
On first use, allow Focus Deck to control Spotify when macOS asks.
Hover over the cover for the artist, track, and upper-right next-track button.
These controls target Spotify specifically.

CALENDAR REMINDERS
Open Settings > Calendar > Connect Calendar and allow calendar access.
Choose all calendars or select individual ones. Add Google or Outlook accounts
to Apple Calendar through macOS Internet Accounts first.
The next event appears 10 minutes before it starts by default, adjustable from
1 to 120 minutes. It is dim until the last minute, then white with a border.
A live countdown shows the time remaining. All-day, cancelled, and declined
events are skipped. Events are read locally and are never changed by Focus Deck.

UPDATING
Quit Focus Deck, then replace the previous app in Applications.
Existing tasks and settings are kept. See CHANGELOG.md for this release.

ON YOUR DESK
Move and resize the window wherever it helps. You can keep it on top in Settings.
Control-Option-Right moves it to the next display.
Command-comma opens Settings for wallpaper, text size, and window options.

YOUR DATA
Each installation starts fresh. No account, tasks, token, or settings from the
publisher's Mac are included. Your Todoist token stays in your macOS Keychain.
Your focus and settings are stored in ~/Library/Application Support/FocusDeck.
The app contacts Todoist when you use or sync tasks, and downloads cover art
from the URL Spotify supplies. Spotify control uses local macOS automation.

This is an early preview. There is no automatic updater; download the next
release when you want to update.
